An Abuja court has fixed March 9 for its ruling on the authentic candidate of the People's Democratic Party in the case filed by Abuja businessman and politician, Dr Obiora OKonkwo against INEC and others. It would be recalled that the court had nullified the election of Senator Uche Ekwunife who contested on the platform of the PDP and directed that a rerun be conducted. The former candidate had since dumped the party and moved to the APC thus paving way for a new candidate to emerge in the PDP with various logics being adduced as to who should or should not be the candidate.
Dr Obiora OKonkwo who contested the primaries with Ekwunife ab into had gone to court to compel the court to pronounce him as the authentic candidate of the party in the forthcoming rerun election.
