Police confirm 47 killed, 79 injured in Yobe school explosion...

The Nigerian police on Monday said 47 people were killed while 79 others were injured in the Monday morning  bomb attack on Government Senior Science Secondary School, Potiskum in Yobe State.

The police said a suicide bomber disguised as a student detonated the explosive at the school’s assembly ground  at 7.45 a.m.

Police bomb experts are already at the crime scene while the victims have been taken to hospital, officials said.

Reports said the students were converged for the morning assembly when the incident occurred.

The Government Science Secondary School, Potiskum is one of the densely populated boarding schools for boys, located very close to the Potiskum General Hospital in the heart of town.

Disappointed by the refusal of the United States to help Nigeria procure military weapons to combat Boko Haram, the federal government has now openly expressed its dissatisfaction with the American government decision, arguing that the Americans were letting Nigeria down at her hour of need, Empowered Newswire reports.

Speaking Monday while receiving a delegation of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations, the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Professor Ade Adefuye said both the Nigerian people and the government feel abandoned by America.

According to Mr. Adefuye “I am sad to inform you that the Nigerian leadership: military and political, and even the general populace, are not satisfied with the scope, nature and content of the United States’ support for us in our struggle against terrorists.”

Another part of the latest Boko Haram video is now available. The new footage lasts a bit more than 1 minute. It shows how the insurgents chase, shoot a lonely man, who allegedly is a soldier.

The video starts with final moments of a gun fight. It shows two figures in dark, most likely camouflaged military outfits. One of them is dead. Another one is one the ground and fires his rifle. Apparently he ran out of ammunition.

Then the man gets up and attempts to retreat. However, a terrorist in white clothes chases him.

Bullets are faster than the people, so the terrorist shot his rifle and has allegedly wounded the fleeing man. The person fell on the ground, while the Boko Haram member approached him for the purpose of a ‘beautiful’ finisher.

The video shows the man in white hitting the alleged Nigerian soldier with his rifle. The magazine of his weapon was also empty.

However, the courageous man has the power to withstand the pain and the powerful blows. Moreover, he manages to pull the attacker to the ground.

This is an indication that the man has completed special training, as he knows how to deal with the stress and to minimise the advantage of his opponent.

As the fight continued, the Boko Haram members in the video looked confused, as they did not expect such a comeback from the injured man.

The terrorist was not the best boxer. After suffering a notable kick in his head, he let the soldier go.

The soldier escapes into the nearby bush and his fate remains unknown.

The explosive, believed to have been ferried into the school by a suicide bomber, went off just as students gathered for the morning assembly.

Nasarawa Violence: 32 killed as gunmen ambush displaced persons retuning home...

Gunmen on Sunday morning ambushed travellers along Arikye Village in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, killing at least  32 of them, according to body counts done by ABUJA REPORTERS.

The victims, who had been displaced from their homes due to the violence in the state, were said to be returning when the attack occurred.

Governor Umaru Al-Makura had last week visited the displaced persons camps and asked them to go home. The governor said the state government was working with security agencies to improve the security situation as well as provide relief materials.

The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ismaila Numan, confirmed Sunday’s attack but said the details and casualty were yet to be ascertained.

WE ARE INVESTIGATING OYEDEPO’S SCHOOL REQUEST – BRITAIN...

The British Government has revealed that David Oyedepo’s Winners’ Chapel International’s request to start a school in the country is under investigation.

Kingdom Heritage Model School was meant to be for scholars from the age of four and will be located in Dartford and start in September.

The school was planned to teach students “Biblical truths” in each subject and is currently being considered by the British Department for Education. The Church is also under investigation by the Charity Commission.

One organization called the National Secular Society, is against the creation of the school because the organization stands for the separation of religion and state.
