Danube Street located
off Ibrahim Babangida Way in Maitama Abuja is a special street. From the
outside the street does not look special. Once you enter the street, one
thing you cannot but notice, especially early in the day and till late
afternoon is the number of Policemen attached to many of the houses. While some
have two others have as many as five or six. This is where some of those who
really matter in Nigeria have their own homes. Not their guest houses, not
their contact places but where they come around to relax, out of the prying
eyes. President Goodluck Jonathan is believed to have a home on this street and
he is believed to visit the imposing mansion on Sundays. This is where Mrs Lot
Jonathan. Specially called MRS Lot J lives with her kids.

INSIDE SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI’S CBN...
---Bridled with Nepotism
and blackmail for sex
Before Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi became the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, he did not hide his love
for women. Indeed his career with the First Bank was one study in how women
should not be treated. abujareporter.com gathered that he never spared any woman
he liked and felt like sleeping with. Once you fell into that category, he
would ensure that he slept with you or else you would be given punitive postings
that would ultimately lead you to leaving the bank. This was even as he
occupied the position of the head of the bank.
HOUSE OF REPS SET TO PROBE PETROLEUM MINISTER’S 10BILLION HELICOPTER BILL
HOUSE OF REPS SET TO
PROBE PETROLEUM MINISTER’S 10BILLION HELICOPTER BILL
The House of Representatives is to open
an investigation into the alleged spending of N10 billion to run Petroleum
Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke’s private jet in the last two years.
The decision was taken following
a motion moved by Rep Samuel Babatunde Adejare (APC, Lagos), alleging that the
minister uses public funds to maintain a private jet.
He said N10 billion was spent on maintenance of the plane, including crew allowances and hangar costs in the past two years.
Adejare said over N3 billion was spent on just maintaining the jet, while about N7 billion was spent on allowances for crew and other associated costs.
He said public funds were used to maintain the jet but “which is used solely for her personal needs and those of her immediate family.”

Countless

Hospital sources confirmed what they called the “wound racket” and said those who visited Thursday demanded to be put on the hospital’s list of wounded applicants in hopes of securing the compensation job announced at Wednesday’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Last Saturday’s tragedy, which left at least 18 job seekers dead during the botched Nigeria Immigration Service’s (NIS) Recruitment...
Last Saturday’s tragedy, which left at least 18 job seekers dead during the botched Nigeria Immigration Service’s (NIS) recruitment, has opened a can of worms on the dirty deals going on at the Interior Ministry, reports SUNDAY ODITA...
FOR
the umpteenth time, the Ministry of Interior and the Nigerian
Immigration Service (NIS) have incurred the citizens’ wrath for
‘dehumanizing’ hapless, job-seeking graduates.
Sources told The Guardian that the ugly events of last Saturday, which led to the death of at least 18 persons at the various recruitment centres across the country would have been averted, if the Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro had allowed the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to handle the exercise.
Officials of the four para-military services under the Ministry of Interior are now taking advantage of the recruitment imbroglio to highlight some of the Minister’s alleged excesses, which they listed as tribalism and high-handedness.
For instance, for the first time in history, the NIS recruitment process was contracted to an external firm, Drexel Nigeria Limited. A top government official confided in The Guardian, that because the NIS was not directly involved in the exercise, it was difficult for it to liaise with relevant government agencies such as the Police, Civil Defence Corps and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), that would have helped to control the massive crowd and provide medical services in the event of an emergency last Saturday. This is coming on the heels arguments by some stakeholders that there was no wisdom in inviting such a huge number of applicants for an interview on the same day.
