He claims to be a man of God but he is neither from God nor does he know God. That was the conclusion of a woman who was on air during a popular Abuja programme a few days back over her allegation against a pastor, self-proclaimed Archbishop, Joseph Rankin. Rankin who presides over a church in Gwagwalada area of Abuja was said to have approached the lady and proposed marriage.

The young lady accepted and Rankin, who claimed to be an ambassador on Twitter went to visit the lady’s relations in one of the South south States. he not only visited but told them of his intention which they found agreeable. They agreed to his plea that he should come back with the bride price and perform all the other formalities to properly take his wife while the lady would continue to live with him.

From then, the story changed. According to the lady, ‘’once we came back, the story changed. I continued to live with him. He refused to go back to my family to perform the marriage rites which he promised he would perform. I begin to sense trouble when I noticed that there were many children in the house and he claimed they were his own but then I could not ask many questions as he kept me quiet each time I asked about the mothers of the children. When I got pregnant for the first time, he advised that I aborted the pregnancy claiming that it was not the right thing to do because the church people knew us together and they knew that we were not formally married. I agreed . I committed abortion for him and when I got pregnant again, I refused to abort it. But he refused to take care of me and the baby. He has told me that I should bring my baby but I refused to give him my baby. I don’t know what he wants to do with the children that he is amassing. There are over ten children in his house, all from different mothers’’.

Archbishop Joseph Rankin claims to be the senior pastor of the Peaceland Revival Chapel. The child in question is about one year eight months old and according to the lady, he has directed her to bring he young child so that he could take care of the baby, but she refused. Meanwhile all efforts to get the self- acclaimed Ambassador and Archbishop to give his own side of the story proved futile as he refused to pick his calls.
