COURT OF APPEAL REMOVES DOMKAT BALI AS TRADITIONAL RULER...


Court of Appeal sitting in Jos, Plateau State capital, has ordered a former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Domkat Bali, to stop parading himself as the Ponhzi Taroh, the traditional stool of the famous Langtang people of southern Plateau.The court also said that he has no right to convene  a meeting of the Langtang traditional council.
Our correspondent gathered that Bali was said to have been forced on the Taroh people by Governor Jonah Jang, when the state government single-handedly altered the gazette of the Langtang traditional council, to pave way for Bali’s ascension to the throne.

Patience Ozokwor Debuts In New Kannywood Movie...



Nollywood star actress, Patience Ozokwor, is to feature in a new Kannywood-Nollywood collaboration movie.The movie, produced by Usman Uzee, is currently being filmed in Abuja.
Mr. Uzee is known for his versatility in movie production and has produced movies featuring Kannywood and Nollywood actors.
His latest movie, still making waves in most cities in the country, is a collaboration between hilarious Kannywood’s Rabiu Musa ‘Ibro’ and Nollywood’s rib cracking Nkem Owoh ‘Osofia’. The film was titled Maja.

WHY SATELLITES CAN’T LOCATE CHIBOK GIRLS – NASRDA...



Satellite images from the Nigeria SatX and Sat 2 cannot trace the 273 girls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok, Borno State, the Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agencies (NASRDA) Professor Seidu Mohammed has said. Mohammed to Daily Trust yesterday that while many Nigerians were expecting the satellite to do wonders to trace the girls, the country’s satellites only possessed 2.5 meters resolution, not sufficient to do such tracking.
He said even countries with advanced satellites that have three meters resolutions find it difficult to trace terrorists, but only help in providing useful information on the possible locations of the hidden terrorists.

Jonathan Condoles With FCT Minister Over Mother’s Death...



President Goodluck Jonathan has condoled with the FCT Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Aishatu Mohammed, describing it as an irreparable loss.
Jonathan stated this in Bauchi State on Saturday during his condolence visit to the minister’s family.
Represented by the Vice-President, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, the president said death was a final destination of mankind.

OBASANJO TAKES OVER JIGAWA PRIMARY SCHOOL MONDAY...



As part of efforts to contribute to the development of education in Jigawa State, former president of Nigeria,  Olusegun Obasanjo, is expected to lead members of the Obasanjo Foundation to the state Monday to formally take over Model Boarding Primary School, Kude in Dutse Local Government  Area.The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Haruna Wakili, who disclosed this to journalists, said at the end of the Jigawa economic summit last year, the former president requested that a primary school should be given to him to manage. He added that the Obasanjo Foundation will take charge of the school in the areas of funding, infrastructure, books and uniforms among others.
