CIVIL DEFENCE SEALS 10 PRIVATE GUARD COMPANIES...

In line with its core mandate to monitor and license private guard companies in the country, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sealed up several companies in Anambra and Enugu state.
In Anambra, the operation was heightened in Onistsha where 5 erring private companies working with expired licenses were giving notices and barred until all levies and standards are conformed to.
Speaking on the issue, the Commandant General of the Corps Dr. Ade Abolurin expressed concern that such flagrant disobedience to the law was capable of promoting a fresh breeding ground for criminalities but for the constant supervision.

The Enugu state screening displayed a high level of compliance to the rules and regulation from the private guard companies and we appeal to other private guard companies across the country to follow their example to avoid undue closures.
The business of security concerns everyone but there are those to whom more responsibility resides and so we must make sure the people of Nigeria can rest easy, trusting that those they hire to protect them are adequately trained and competent for the job."
Nigerian are also advised to go the nearest private security company in case of emergency as these companies have direct lines to government security agencies.
