If there is any regret a top aide to the immediate past First lady Patience Jonathan had, it was the fact that he moved some money into the foreign account of his first son who schooled abroad and then allowed the boy to have access to the account. According to the report, the top aide to the former First lady, who hails from one the Kogi State made some good money running into millions of dollars during the last days of Jonathan in government. In a bid to hide his tracks, he decided to salt the money away in some accounts where it would not be easy fro prying eyes to see them. One of such accounts was established in the name of his son who was schooling abroad.
Abujareporters.com gathered that the account name was the boy’s so it was easy having access to the cash as the father in a bid to make life easy for him gave him the credit card to the account. When the young man went to make the first withdrawal from the account, he was believed to have been surprised by what he saw. He simply could not believe that his father was using his account to launder money. He thought the money was for his own use. One thing led to the other, the young men got hooked on drugs.

The hitherto diligent and obedient son in a matter of weeks became something else. Shortly after the transition from Jonathan to Buhari, the mother received a call from his school that the boy was having serious health challenges that required her urgent attention. She flew abroad and met the boy in a sanatorium. His case had degenerated. By the time the parents spent a month with him, it was obvious that he had taken more than his brain could take. Arrangements were made to bring him back to Nigeria so that they could handle the problems the traditional way here, given the fact that the father came from a state that wa swell known for handling such mental cases. Unfortunately, the deed had been done. The young boy died a a couple of weeks back. He never regained his mind.
