HOW LATE KOGI FIRST LADY,ZAINAB IBRAHIM IDRIS SPENT HER LAST DAYS UNHAPPY AND BETRAYED...

Not many people would know that the late First lady of Kogi state, Zainab Idris wife of the immediate past governor of the state Ibrahim Idris was separated from her husband before she died. Indeed she lived in the Abuja home of her first son, Mohammed Idris who is a member of the House of Representatives in Wuse Zone 6 after she moved out of the family house in Maitama over irreconcilable differences with her husband.According to impeccable sources close to the family, Zainab Ibrahim Idris watched helplessly as her husband, under pressure from politicians betrayed a family friend who had been very close to the family and had all through their two term in government single-handedly picked some of the bills which the governor should have picked including weddings of some of their kids.

What made the case more overwhelming for her was that it was not that the family did not have the wherewithal to take care of the expenses but the said politician had done all these in order to cement a relationship with the governor’s family so that he could succeed the governor.

City People gathered that even when she had health challenges while still in government it wa still the same person who rallied round the family. Along the line, her then governor husband was alleged to have told the other guy that he had to dispose off some of his properties in other not to give room for EFCC which would scrutinize his businesses before he could pick the ticket. The said guy allegedly agreed and sold most of the properties to the former Governor. A few weeks later when the then governor was to announce his preferred successor, he announced another person different from the guy who had sold the properties to him and who had been a pillar of support for the family. Members of the family tried to no avail to let him know that it as betrayal and the late wife who was highly emotional about the issue was said to have told the former governor that no one was safe with him if he could betray such a friend even to the extent of prompting the latter to sell his properties to him.

This it was gathered was what influenced her quietly packing out of her matrimonial home in Asokoro into her son’s second apartment in Wuse Zone 6 while Mohammed moved to Life Camp with his family. This was where she was until she died a few days ago. She died living alone with a relation who works at the NJC who doubled as her cook, cleaner and driver.
