The wife of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris, Hajia Zainab Idris, is dead. Hajia Zainab Ibrahim Idris was the First lady of the state all through the period the immediate past Governor presided over the affairs of the state. Hajia Zainab, who died early yesterday, was said to have been battling with health problems that kept her away from the public since her husband left office in January 2012.
Some sources have speculated that she died of cancer as she was believed to have been diagnosed ofcancer of the breast which had seen her lose come under the surgeon’s knife even before she died. She was believed to have been diagnosed even while her husband was still in Government House as the Governor of the state.She is the mother of Mohammed Ibrahim Idris the former Governor’s son who is presently a member of the House of Representatives.She was aged 60.
