For the family of a popular Kogi Billionaire and oil merchant, Jide Omokore, these are not the best of times. According to very dependable sources, the influential oil merchant who is believed to be very close to influential Petroleum Resources minister, Deziani Allison Madueke is down with stroke and was recently flown abroad. Prior to the ailment, there was a reported story of his having some other health complications.
Abujareporter.com reliably gathered that the recent health
complications occurred over the issue of some huge missing money which he was
believed to have known quite a lot about. It was gathered that at some point
sometimes between the end of March and early April, he was invited to the
Presidency where he was tongue- lashed over his roles. Sources gathered that at
a point he even broke down when the dressing down was going on. Since then his
health crisis seemed to have increased to the point that he could no longer
talk very well.
After the heart attack that led to the stroke, he was taken
to two different hospitals around before he was eventually flown abroad. It was
reliably gathered that his recent health challenges has caused a lot of panic
in circles close to the top in the oil sector given his closeness to those who
run the sector and the dirty jobs he has been doing for them. Not a few of the
top shots in the Ministry have been praying that the guy would not die or at
least the ailment would not affect him too much to the extent that he would not
be able to reason well.
He is believed to be the hatchet- man for most of the deals
involving the Petroleum Resources Minister, Allison Madueke as well as some
senior top Directors in the NNPC as well as the Petroleum Ministry. Recall that
the Permanent Secretary in the Petroleum Ministry was sacked last year when he
took his daughter’s wedding to Dubai. At that event, the groom’s father was
none other than Billionaire, Jide Omokore and guests from across party lines
including the harshest critics of Jonathan’s government were all flown to the
UAE at his expense.
